THE LAST TIME I SAW "MAMA"

The last time I saw Mama,
She was standing by the train.
Upon her lips, there was a smile,
But in her eyes, was pain.

She had come to say good-bye to me;
I was leaving her that day.
The drugs that she was living on
Had driven me away.

She had come to say good-bye to me
And I could hear her say,
"Mama loves you honey,"
As the train, it pulled away.

The last time I saw Mama,
I was standing in the rain.
Upon her lips there was no smile
And in her eyes, no pain.

I had come to say good-bye to her,
She was leaving me that day.
The drugs that she was living on
Had taken her away.

I had come to say goodbye to her,
But she could not hear me say,
"I love you too, Mama,
As I turned and walked away.
