The Sweet-toothed Tiger
Who Perhaps Never Was
Daphne Gormley 8/5/97
Once there was,
or perhaps there never was,
a tiger who lived in the forest.
The tiger, who had a terrible sweet tooth,
nibbled on the toes of young girls
who were oft to see their grandmothers
who lived in the woods,
and dated sheep in wolves clothing.
Because of his habit, the tiger
had very bad teeth which made him
bellow in pain.
It became very difficult for the tiger
to be still which he needed to be
if he was going to creep up on
young girls unaware.
Perhaps there was never a tiger in the forest
but there are certainly young girls
ready to be tempted by sweet toothed tigers
and sheep in wolves’ clothing.
