Time Led Love to Shed Sorrowful Tears

Michael Price

Time led love to shed sorrowful tears,
For parting were its spring and summer,
From an effortless song did sing,
Of a bliss far reaching in appeal.
Falling are petals in meaning so true,
A gift in symbol of eternal stay,
With music a comprehension by melody,
As a delicate flower would its delight compose,
Until winter’s chill did time consume,
All in revolve that seasons know,
And now such blossoming its fading does show.
As nature will portray bright wonder,
May also change come upon grief to bear,
A season shall a former pleasure forsake,
Allowing such decline the pain of loss does partake.
Yet partial is growth to music by sunlight,
A warmth consists where beauty abides,
And sorrow its measure will fleeting become,
As roots do delay to transcend again,
To fertile fields when rain showers,
Amid the subtle revival of garden bowers,
Toward sweet blissful moments to attend.
Earth shall become generous of life,
Days in plenitude may relieve such strife,
Transforming by cause through pain and joy,
Endure also with the passage of time,
Giving vitality to love its brighter hours,
Upon earth the grace in a harmony of flowers.
