The Road Winds in Forest’s Depth

Michael Price

The road winds in forest’s depth,
I know that loss of direction occurs,
When forward only by sparse detection,
Will carry until change has found its home.
Love has its own experience in ebb and flow,
Just as stars in midnight their passion glow,
A music sets forth in causeless rhyme,
Of beauty that is in life entwined.
Yours my muse unveils inward verse,
Fluent as words do justice to purpose,
As this fleeting life can follow and lead,
What is visible in light of day,
And hidden by darkest hours.
Shatter a dream and reality’s might,
Will engender grief in trauma’s expanse,
Until fluttering by the heart its desire’s dance,
Upon this vision when time calls for truth.
I walk a road that knows its way,
Into the wooded mirage will its passage step,
Finding its guide by trust in season’s strength,
That will shine a harmony to sway,
By spirit to gain its contentment within.
A soul’s bright presence will be found,
Unto earth to the essence of sound,
Which frees the spirit with harmony,
As music upon a cusp of eternity.
