SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING
Arlington Apartments and the Hollister Apartments
The Arlington and Hollister Supported Independent Living Program provides affordable studio units, with supportive services, for low income persons living with mental illness.
As such, a continuum of services is provided at the housing site.
Services include:
- Permanent affordable housing
- Individual, group, and family therapy
- Development of independent living and socialization skills
- Vocational and educational assistance

Graduate House
The Graduate Program is long-term, permanent housing in Santa Barbara managed by Sanctuary Psychiatric Centers of Santa Barbara. This 4-bed residential facility, for graduates of Sanctuary House, provides a maximum of independence while still providing therapeutic structure and support.
Graduate House offers clients a forum to problem solve and exchange ideas, share successes, and further their personal treatment goals in a mutually supportive environment.
Every client has the option of weekly individual counseling sessions with the Graduate House Program Director, and should extra support be needed, services at the Arlington Out-Patient Treatment Center program are available.
Staff is on-call 24 hours per day for crisis management. If hospitalization and/or a stay at Sanctuary House should become necessary, the client’s placement at Graduate House will not be jeopardized. However, the need for further intensive treatment would be discussed with the client, family, and the Sanctuary Psychiatric Center team of professionals.
Overall, the Graduate House offers an opportunity for independent living in Santa Barbara, California that is secure and affordable with monitoring and continued support by the Sanctuary Psychiatric Centers treatment team.
